Haleiwa, Hawaii — Greenroom Gallery Hawaii is pleased to announce Everydays, a solo exhibition by American artist Alimo, opening Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Greenroom Gallery Haleiwa. This exhibition marks Alimo’s first solo show in Hawaii and debuts a new series of drawings and paintings shaped by the artist’s memories and lived experiences on the island.

As its title suggests, Everydays invites visitors into a narrative journey that reflects the daily rhythms and moments the artist observed in Hawaii—specifically people and their everyday lives at the beach. Through intimate observation, Alimo captures the sense of community and connection that naturally forms around the ocean.

Recalling his early experiences, Alimo shares:

“My freshmen year in college, I spent a short summer out in Haleiwa picking mangos on a farm and surfing every day with my friends. Life was easy. Our days revolved around the ocean and what it served us, the mangos were secondary.

It fascinated me how everyone congregated to the ocean throughout the day. Whether that’s a family BBQ, surfing, or just swimming in the ocean. We all had this unspoken magnet within us that pulled us towards the sand. Even if you were away for a few hours, that energy was on your mind throughout the day.”

Rendered with his distinct curvy linework and flat tonal compositions, Alimo distills these memories into visual scenes that feel both personal and universal. His playful yet deliberate style invites viewers to reflect on their own everyday rituals, moments of leisure, and connection to place.

About Alimo

Born in Portland, Oregon and now based in Brooklyn, New York, Alimo is recognized for his curvy post-pop imagery, highly saturated colors, vibrant hand-drawn lettering, and worlds inhabited by figures arranged on flat tonal surfaces. His work bridges drawing and design, drawing inspiration from natural landscapes—from the ocean to the mountains—and focusing on people interacting with their everyday selves.
